Like all of Koontz's work the language is often sheer poetry and that is the strength of the story. Koontz is a man of strong opinions and no one reading his work would have any doubt about where he stands on the issues he raises. The concept of multi-verses is a fascinating one and Koontz asks some interesting questions in "Elsewhere." The stock over the top psycho-comic villain is a little disappointing and I would like to have seen the character of the mother, Michelle, more detailed. It would be interesting to see what Koontz does with the concept of the Mandela Effect.
