A detective from Colorado Springs details some of the most gruesome murder cases he has worked on in his career.
Kenda shares his deepest, darkest, and never-before-revealed case files from two decades as a homicide detective. He provides the gory details of cases that are too gruesome to air on television; cases that still haunt him; and the few cases where the killer got away. Kenda reminds us that crimes like these are very real and can happen even in our own backyards.

Without a doubt, Joe Kenda has become an accidental tv star. His matter-of-fact, almost deadpan delivery, laced with wit, quips and self-deprecating humor, his obvious passion for his former career, and his delightful one-liners (well, my my my, anyone?) has America both interested and enchanted.
This book is an excellent companion to the tv show, enlarging on some cases shown on the program, and Introducing new stories and cases that have not been shown. His ghost writer did a fine job in crafting the book to read in Kenda's familiar voice. The book isn't as much fun as the show, but you could easily read it as a stand alone and enjoy it.
I appreciated the information on and insights into Kenda's family and background and found it refreshing that he freely admits how wrenching it was to walk away from police work while realizing it was imperiling him and his familial relationships to stay.
Write another one for us, Joe.

Excellent!! Reading the book is like having him in the living room. He may have had a ghost rider but the words are truly his & spoken as only he can. Looking forward to a followup in the near future.

Brilliant. Kenda had me doubled over laughing at times and mortified at others. While reading "I Will Find You" the reader gets to learn about where Kenda's family came from, how he chose his line of work, more commentary on some cases discussed in his show and some brand new ones he's never talked about (yet), the effects of his work on his family and he even shares what he's been up to (other than his show) since retirement.

I highly recommend this book because there's only so much he can share on his show and the reader gets a much deeper look into his life, family and career over his 23 years in law enforcement.

5/5, top of the list, FAVORITE book!

If you love true crime and dark macabre humor, you are going to fall hard for this book. Plus, Detective Kenda worked in Colorado Springs, so it's unsettling (yet fascinating) to hear all his stories from a city that isn't too far away from Denver. Highly recommend! Also, check out the podcast "Detective" because the first season features Kenda.
