People Kill People is a harsh portrayal of the reality that is gun violence in the United States of America. The changing characters in the book provide viewpoints from every perspective. Not only does the author shed light on important topics such as white supremacy, racism and group mentality, but the narrator in the story is compelling. The shock I felt all throughout this story make this book one of the most powerful I've ever read. I would recommend this book to open-minded readers who want to explore different perspectives of gun violence.

After reading Crank, I became interested in other books by Ellen Hopkin. The important message on gun violence is effectively interwoven between 6 people. Violence, the narrator makes the reader think about the effects or guns and how that relates to the reader themselves. The book is uniquely designed, Ellen Hopkin turns it into a ‘movie’ by adding “Fade in” and “Fade out” to some chapters. I love the diversity of characters and the aspect of passion, discrimation, and drugs that lead to the one person dying (not a spoiler, it's in the back of the cover). The epilogue she included gave me some closure after the thrilling ending of the story. The takeaway is clear, “Guns don't kill people, people kill people''. I would recommend this to most not all, as it does have many inappropriate scenes.
