Add a CommentI liked the structure, illustration, and creative die-cut pages. Each plot point has a small analog clock face, a nice addition for early readers who want to practice time-telling. I didn't love that the point seems to be, if you are grouchy, someone will slap you. Or conversely, if someone is grouchy with you, slap them; they will automatically turn contrite and humble. But your (or your kid's) mileage may vary!
My little one loves this book. I don't so much love that the ladybug wants to fight everyone, so I changed the word to "wrestle"... :) It's a pretty tedious one to read though.
In Eric Carle's iconic picture book, a grouchy ladybug challenges everyone she meets to a fight until finally she learns an important lesson about bullying and sharing. Ages 0-6.
It's good for kids to learn a lesson to not be grouchy everyday
The illustrations and the pages and text make Eric Carle's books so interesting. The repetitiveness of it makes it fun for the kids to follow along.
I love the use of transparent overlays in Eric Carle's picture books. It adds a new depth to the story and allows for great interactions! A little repetitive but it gets children reading along!
