Great book about a little-known person who served during the Civil War. Gives life to history. Beautiful illustrations. Author presented material well and in manner accessible to children.
Inspired my 11 year old to ask for one of the books listed in the bibliography so she could learn more. That's a first!
Wish author's notes had included info about Sarah Edmonds marriage after the war and raising of 2 adopted children.
