“10 – 10 – 10: A Life Transforming Idea” by Suzy Welch presents the idea that using this process will help you figure out the right course of action in dealing with family, work, love and your ultimate goals. You start by framing your dilemma, crisis, problem, etc. as a question. Then you gather the pertinent data. Finally, being honest and exhaustive, answer the following:
Given my question, what are the consequences of each of my options in 10 minutes? In 10 months? In 10 years?
You get that in one page. The rest of the 200+ pages are the stories of people who use this process and how it effects their and other’s lives.
I found it to be much better than many of the “self-help” style books I’ve read over the years and was worth my time.

I like the 10-10-10 idea and will try to use it in my life from now on. I appreciated that she included some examples of how to use it and some real life situations....but found the book a little long. It was the same thing over and over again.

Suzy Welch introduces an exceptional little tool for decision making called 10-10-10. As already mentioned in another review think of your decision and the consequences (how you feel about it, too), in 10 minutes, then in 10 months, and in 10 years. This will help you put your choice in perspective - often helping you make the choice that makes most sense for your situation.

Decent tips on decision making if you are a total dumbass. Life transforming? No.
