Comment
Add a CommentTerry Brooks continues to write one-dimensional characters with few unique characteristics to define them one from another. Full of plot holes, replete with various deus ex machina, and full of overblown expository passages, this is one more in the series of turgid novels churned out by TB as he continues to mine the vein of Shannara fandom.
Out of the original Shannara series, I found Wishsong to be the most entertaining. Brooks does indeed improve with his stories in each new addition and soon I shall embark on the Heritage series and hope to maintain that opinion.
I enjoyed the storyline and felt in touch with the characters, especially Jair and I found the story overall to be faster paced than Elfstones. I definitely recommend it if you're into the traditional fantasy genre that I believe these books tend to fall under.
